Contributions included teaching refugees "survival" English (2008)

-Completed Transforming Teaching Through Learning Seminar: a seminar with emphasis on active learning and student engagement (2010)

- Awarded Silver Level of Scholarship: level achieved for attending over 40 hours of Lansing Community College sponsored seminars and presentations on relevant academic issues (2011)

-Attended "On Course" Seminar at Jackson College: Discussed strategies for promoting success in at risk student populations (2014)

-Organized forum on political ideologies for students: Working with colleagues, brought in city councilwoman, libertarian speaker, and socialist candidate to answer student questions on topics of interest. Students later incorporated these perspectives into organized class debates (2016)

-Collaborated with Lansing Community College Center for Engaged Inclusion on climate-change themed week: Showed related documentaries throughout the week, invited professors to address topic, and arranged for theatrical performance on campus (2017)

-Participated in National Association for Developmental Education Accreditation Institute: Took part in a number of developmental education related workshops throughout the day (2017)

-Certified to Teach Online/Hybrid Classes: Took online eight week class sponsored by Lansing Community College for instructors to learn about online class layout, finding suitable digital content, and scheduling for online classes (2018)

-Attended 2019 Lilly Educators Conference: Attended seminars on improved teaching, support for students, and mindfulness for instructors. After the conference, attending faculty presented a summary of what we learned to our colleagues.
