I have fifteen years worth of experience teaching writing at the community college level. I have taught ESL, developmental writing, and freshman composition. I am eager to continue my career through online instruction.
Adjunct instructor for a variety of courses including English as a Second Language, developmental writing, and college composition courses. Responsibilities also included organizing class schedules, creating syllabi, use of learning management system (LMS) and Kaltura for the recording of presentations.
Worked for American Book Award Winner and indigenous poet, Allison Hedge-Coke, sending out solicitations to prominent writers requesting submissions for proposed poetry anthology Red Hands Working Clans.
Assisted fellow students, helped them find appropriate resources and aided them in interpreting, structuring, and revising their assignments.

-Organized forum on political ideologies for students: Working with colleagues, brought in city councilwoman, libertarian speaker, and socialist candidate to answer student questions on topics of interest. Students later incorporated these perspectives into organized class debates (2016)
-Collaborated with Lansing Community College Center for Engaged Inclusion on climate-change themed week: Showed related documentaries throughout the week, invited professors to address topic, and arranged for theatrical performance on campus (2017)
-Participated in National Association for Developmental Education Accreditation Institute: Took part in a number of developmental education related workshops throughout the day (2017)
-Certified to Teach Online/Hybrid Classes: Took online eight week class sponsored by Lansing Community College for instructors to learn about online class layout, finding suitable digital content, and scheduling for online classes (2018)
-Attended 2019 Lilly Educators Conference: Attended seminars on improved teaching, support for students, and mindfulness for instructors. After the conference, attending faculty presented a summary of what we learned to our colleagues.
