This position was labeled as General Mechanic. I was primarily a Millwright but other tasks such as simple fitting and welding occurred regularly. This included but was not limited to pump installation and/or rebuilds, motor installation, bearing removal/installation (bump fit, tapered bore, interference, etc.) occasional conveyor maintenance, mechanical drive assemblies (chains and belts), rigging, operating stationary and mobile cranes, running scissor lifts/man baskets, and a multitude of other tasks generally found in an industrial setting.

- Can pack, install, and rebuild a variety of pumps, such as (hydraulic, chemical, condensate, water, etc) primarily proficient in goulds 3175 and 3196 series pumps

- Can use all basic hand tools as well as precision instruments such as (micrometers, calipers, etc)
- Can operate stationary and mobile cranes (house, jib, carry decks/Groves/Brodersons, etc)
- Can track belts on conveyors of various lengths as well as replace rollers and achieve proper tension from the tail pulley or take-up
- Can run an oxy-acetylene torch for cutting, washing, and heating tasks
- Can stick weld well enough to perform all millwright related tasks as well as other minor applications
- Can operate fork lifts and other general equipment
- Can operate scissor lifts and man baskets
- Can perform nearly any other task typically found in an industrial setting
