Dedicated law enforcement professional with 25+ years of experience in public safety and investigative roles. Proven expertise in conducting thorough investigations, managing emergency situations, and mentoring new recruits as a field training officer. My main focus was commercial enforcement. I joined the Commercial Enforcement Unit of the California Highway Patrol in January of 2009. There I began my duties as a MRE (Mobile Road Enforcement). It was there that I felt my true calling. I was in the construction field out of high school in 1983. Most of my duties were moving heavy equipment and operating dump trucks. When the opportunity arose to use my background in truck driving and moving heavy equipment, I jumped at it. After completing 3 weeks of CHP Commercial Vehicle section commercial vehicle inspection school, I was able to begin inspections of commercial vehicles throughout the Southern California area. We began using pen and paper inspection reports, to the latest computer programs that upload to a Federal database. Those inspections could then be viewed by all commercial enforcement officers throughout the United States. They access these reports if they came across a truck I've inspected, so they can determine if the driver had the defects that I documented repaired. I conducted thousands of inspections from 2009 to the day I retired one December 15th, 2023. I have always looked for an opportunity to continue what I loved doing for so many years.
