As safety manager at a steel mill, my job description centers on promoting and ensuring a safe work environment by developing and implementing safety programs, conducting inspections to identify and mitigate hazards, training employees, investigating incidents, and maintaining compliance with all relevant safety regulations.

• Conduct daily safety inspections and audits of the jobsite and equipment.
• Monitor workers for compliance with PPE and safety procedures.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents.
