High All-American, Player of the month (January 1975) 7th leading scorer in Manatee County in my Senior year of high school
Affiliations
I coached youth league football and basketball my early years and in 1986 I started coaching freshman football at Manatee High School. As the years went by, I became the Head JV basketball coach for the boys and assistant coach for the varsity boys' basketball team. In 1990 I became the assistant coach for the boys at Manatee Community College which is now called SCF until 1997. I was involved in recruiting, player evaluations, player development, substitutions, conducting drills and monitoring academics. My last year in 1997 we made it to the State Semifinals in Pensacola where we played Chipola and lost in overtime. After that year I took two years off and later I returned to Manatee High where I resume coaching as an assistant to several coaches for the boys' basketball team. In 2021 I remain as an assistant basketball coach under Robert Lauster until his departure and I was asked to be an assistant with the girls' basketball team led by Coach Travis Persinger. After his departure I remain as an assistant coach with the girls' basketball led by the present Coach Letece Luther. I finally stepped away in 2023 but I'm still connectecd with the program.
