A dedicated educator with a sociology/anthropology major, I have a strong background in analyzing, collecting, researching, and writing data. This adds to my overall passion to help black/latino/ oppressed youth to understand their society, their history, the role they play in today's world and how to take direct action. This allows me to create engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster learning and social growth. Complemented by a minor in English writing, I have a passion for developing clear, fun lesson plans and communicating effectively with both children and parents.
Throughout my academic and professional career, I've realized how important it is for young minds to have a positive learning environment so they can be nourished with the right tools to operate in society. My organized approach, history with various different youth and capability to thrive under pressure ensure that I can manage diverse groups of children while meeting program goals and deadlines. I'm also efficient at collecting and analyzing data on student progress, which I would use to continually improve the after-school curriculum.
My adaptability and Eagerness for new challenges make me an ideal fit for the altering world of elementary education. I'm committed to enhancing our after-school program by incorporating innovative ideas and best practices in child development while providing a safe, enriching experience for our students.
