Summary

I am an MS Chemical Engineering student at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and a recipient of the NJIT Provost Scholarship, with strong research experience in pharmaceutical and environmental engineering. Previously, I worked as a Research Intern at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) on the synthesis and characterization of sorbent materials for removing heavy metals from potable water. Experienced in literature review, experimental design, data analysis, and laboratory techniques, including FTIR, USP dissolution testing, membrane separation, and adsorption studies. Proficient in Aspen, DWSIM, Polymath, and ImageJ, with a strong interest in academic and industrial research internships.

Capstone Project

Wastewater Treatment Using Membrane Separation Techniques, 01/01/25, 05/01/25, Designed a sustainable solution to treat wastewater generated by the pharmaceutical industry using nanofiltration technology., Developed and tested a nanofiltration membrane system to treat pharmaceutical wastewater, focusing on the removal of drug residues and dissolved organics.

Research Paper

IN-SILICO approaches for Microbial Enzymatic Degradation of Plastics, Departmental program, MITWPU, Pune, 05/01/24, Discussed the interactions between enzymes and plastic compound., Found that Manganese peroxidase has the best binding affinity for all plastics.

Social Services

Volunteer, Breathe Foundation - Dog Care Centre, Helped care for stray and abandoned dogs by feeding them, keeping their spaces clean, and making sure they felt safe and loved., Supported awareness efforts to encourage kindness toward animals and promote adoptions within the community.

  • Chem E Car, 01/01/23, 01/01/24, 12. The objective was to use chemicals to start and stop a car. Built 2 cars, one with an aluminum-air battery and the other with a Zinc-Carbon battery. For the stopping mechanism process, used Chameleon Reaction [Redox reaction] with variations of time and quantities with Sucrose as the main element., Won the Student Regional Competition (SRC) under mentorship of Dr. Anand Kulkarni held in 2023.
  • Research in Biodiesel, 08/01/22, 07/01/23, 5, Objective was to develop methods for producing biodiesel from raw materials such as synthesizing biodiesel from waste cooking oil., Read several review papers related to the procedure, synthesis, materials required and design of the reactor system for biodiesel production.Worked on an experimental set-up prepared by the Mentor and seniors.
  • Password Control System, 12/01/21, 06/01/22, 1, Developed a circuit using Arduino on Tinker Cad., The system was run on C++ with a bulb connected to Arduino., It was built such that the bulb could glow only if the correct password was input.
