I gained hands-on experience coaching top-level high school players, many of whom had international experience. I assisted with practices for both goalkeepers and field players, while also taking on media responsibilities such as photographing games, writing blog posts and stories, and editing highlight clips using VEO and Trace. This role allowed me to work closely with the coaching staff and develop a deeper understanding of player development and the operations of a residential soccer program.

As part of my coaching role, I planned and led training sessions for the four goalkeepers in the academy, providing instructional feedback before, during, and after each session. I also traveled with the team to games and tournaments, warming up goalkeepers and assisting wherever needed. In addition to working with goalkeepers, I supported practices for field players, contributing to sessions and helping the coaching staff with various tasks.

In this role, I worked across multiple sports—including women’s soccer, football, and men’s and women’s basketball—recording and inputting live statistics for official NCAA games. I was stationed courtside or in the press box, typically collaborating with one or two others to ensure accurate, real-time stat tracking.

Additionally, I had the unique opportunity to assist in the hiring process for one of the Sports Information Directors at Berry College. This included participating in a lunch interview to help evaluate the candidate’s fit within the department.

Beyond stat keeping, I also contributed in other areas: I photographed several men’s lacrosse games and provided commentary for a men’s basketball broadcast when the live production team needed a fill-in.
