Riley Duecker

In this position I have continued improving my troubleshooting skills by working on specialized research cooling equipment such as environmental test chambers. I oversee and manage all food service refrigeration operations which includes inventorying and ordering repair parts, keeping stock of refrigerant usage, managing large projects, and providing technical support for the other technicians on my team.

After consulting with Gallatin College on creating a new HVAC/R program, I was asked to stay on as one of the instructors. In this position, I have greatly increased my ability to explain complicated concepts to individuals with no previous understanding of the subject matter. I have also spent a significant amount of time networking with local contractors, other instructors, and soliciting donations for our program. I have created original material to complement our chosen curriculum.

In this role I have been assisting Gallatin College with developing an HVAC/R technology program with an option for a one year certificate and two year A.A.S. degree. In this role I have further developed my communication skills and computer literacy. Through course development I have also added research aptitude and creative thinking to my repertoire

In this position, I maintained and repaired espresso machines as well as food service refrigeration for multiple accounts. I used skills learned from my experience in the HVAC field to troubleshoot common components such as solenoid valves, steam boilers and pumps. I also managed logistics for my department, including scheduling, parts ordering, and invoicing. I also provided technical recommendations for customers looking to purchase new machines. After taking over as service manager, the average monthly invoicing increased sixfold, and customer satisfaction greatly improved.

In this role I performed troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work on commercial equipment. I interfaced with several building automation platforms and improved my computer literacy. I gained proficiency on refrigeration used in multiple applications. I was responsible for my own time management and learned to prioritize tasks according to urgency.

In this role I performed troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work on commercial and residential HVAC equipment. I expanded my competency in skills necessary for retrofitting equipment and led several commercial retrofit jobs. I was given the opportunity to work alongside individuals starting in the trade and learned how best to manage employees under my supervision onsite

In this role I performed troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work on commercial and residential HVAC equipment. I expanded my customer service skills by interfacing on a more personal level with residential customers. As the most senior technician at a company without a service manager I developed management skills through maintaining parts and stock and working with the office to ensure the proper technician was dispatched to the proper job

In this role I performed troubleshooting and repair work for a large variety of commercial and industrial clients on their climate control systems. I worked on an extensive variety of things from residential style split systems to process chillers and rooftops in excess of 100 tons of cooling. I gained proficiency in the majority of skills necessary for this trade; brazing, refrigerant recovery, stick welding, soft soldering, electrical diagnostics, schematic interpretation, and customer service.

In this role I assembled and manufactured ductwork, interpreted building schematics, installed forced air systems, coordinated with other trades on site as well as communicating to shop material needs.

In this role I set forms, ran wheelbarrows, moved dirt, cut and set rebar, stamped, power washed and sealed concrete, raked wet concrete and performed light finishing work. I controlled the pace of the job site by being the most basic support role. The tempo of work was set by how quickly I could move concrete to the finishers, something I excelled at. I used team work, self-motivation, responsibility, and communication.
