Riley Thinoi

At Target, I worked in multiple areas of the store helping with stocking, inventory, cashiering, and customer service. My main responsibilities included keeping shelves stocked, organizing products, and making sure the sales floor stayed clean and ready for customers. I also worked in refrigerated areas stocking and organizing products while making sure items were properly handled. Assisted customers by answering questions and helping them locate products.

I assisted with landscaping projects through a local company, helping complete residential yard work and outdoor maintenance in the Anchorage and Wasilla areas. The work included helping prepare properties, cleaning up yards, moving materials, and assisting with different landscaping tasks depending on the project.

After completing high school and mechanics coursework, I accepted a position with CMI as a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice where I gained hands-on experience working with different vehicles and heavy equipment.

I assisted experienced mechanics with inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks. My main focus was heavy machinery, where I helped examine equipment, identify potential issues, and support daily maintenance operations.

I earned my Forklift Certification during my time at CMI and gained experience operating equipment. This position helped me develop a stronger foundation in diesel mechanics, equipment maintenance, and hands-on problem solving.

Started working at Walmart while attending high school, gaining experience in customer service, inventory, and daily store operations. I assisted customers, handled transactions, stocked merchandise, and helped maintain organized sales floors.

I was responsible for managing inventory, restocking products, helping with floor layouts, and maintaining the garden center and plant section. Working at Walmart helped me develop strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills while balancing work and school.

After graduating high school and completing my mechanics coursework, I accepted an opportunity with another company to further my passion in the automotive career.
