As a babysitter, I watched over two young boys for hours at a time while their mom was at work. I would do everything from playing Jenga for hours to taking him downtown for ice cream. This required me to have patience, liveliness, and quick problem-solving skills.

For this job I clarified rules and resolved disputes between coaches, players and spectators. It was vital for me to be confident and have a strong understanding of the game.

As a volleyball referee I maintained sportsmanship and order on the court. This job required me to react to complex game situations quickly and effectively. It was also essential for me to be flexible and patient because I never knew when or where I was needed throughout the day of reffing.

I had the privilege of helping young girls and boys develop teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship between one and other. Though individually I have gained a valuable skill, communication. Whether it was between players and what jersey to wear, or to their parents who had questions/concerns for me.
