CCP seeks to promote cross-cultural friendships and improve English language communication among De Anza College students from English as a Second Language (ESL) and non-ESL classes, thus enhancing appreciation for cultural diversity.

• Spent 10 hours meeting with 20 ESL students for two consecutive quarters.
• Spoke English with them to enhance reciprocal communication skills.
• Helped correct their grammar or vocabulary mistakes.
• Made friends from different backgrounds.
• Gained insights into interesting cultures, traditions, and important events that shape our society today.

Girls Who Math strives to make STEM fun and accessible to young women from all walks of life. It breaks down economic and social barriers and encourage more women to pursue careers in STEM. It has helped 800+ students in 32 countries.

• Developed teaching materials and lesson plans with creativity so that they became fun and approachable.
• Assigned and checked homework for over 20 students regularly.
• Learned how to encourage learning despite the classes being online.
• Implemented strategies such as Q&A sessions, group work, and interesting videos to keep students engaged.

Mentors@De Anza is a student-run peer mentorship program under the Office of College Life at De Anza College.

• Shared resources, opportunities, and activities to support mentee's learning and development.
• Organized peer mentoring events and activities that fostered community engagement and social connections among students.
• Developed strong rapport with mentees through regular check-ins, leading to increased trust and open communication.
• Worked closely with program coordinators to evaluate the effectiveness of mentoring initiatives and suggest areas for improvement.
