Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT.) I began working in healthcare pharmacy setting in 1989. Registered with the California State Board of Pharmacy in 1993. Received PTCB Certification in 1997.
As an American Heart Association Instructor. I have had the privilege for over 24 years to teach Basic Life Support and Heartsaver CPR AED and First Aid in English and Spanish.
I conduct myself adhering to HIPAA, PHI, CDC, local, state, and federal laws to ensure patient safety & privacy.
Whether assisting a patient or teaching a student skills to save a life; I apply all of my training and years of experience to ensure personal success & growth for my career and those I interact with.
Effectively teach AHA BLS and Heartsaver CPR AED and First Aid according to AHA guidelines and curriculum.
Employed variety of teaching styles to respond to needs of diverse learners.
Taught BLS as part of UEI curriculum for Pharmacy Technician, Dental, and Medical Assisting students. Later part or my tenure was to sub as a Pharmacy Technician Instructor to cover Instructor's vacations and sick days.
Mobile training in AHA BLS and Heartsaver CPR AED First Aid courses. Traveled to schools, churches, medical offices, dental facilities, construction, daycare's, pharmacies, etc,. Held monthly BLS classes at the Jessie Turner Center Fontana, CA. Responsible for all paperwork for each class. Maintain equipment clean disinfected and ready to use. Provided each student with a manual, hands on training, and a AHA card.
Responsibilities included the following: customer service, typing, filing, and compounding prescriptions, maintenance of patient records and billing third parties, medical groups, workman's compensation, Medi-Cal, IEHP, and HMO's, procure refill via fax and phone, request authorization's for non-formulary drug and medical supplies, weekly and monthly reports, cash handling, accounts receivables, inter-store accounts and accounting functions.
*Vast on-site experience in educating/training technician's in regards to drug formularies and authorization procedures.
*Provided company's orientation training to newly hired Pharmacist's and Technician's.
*Led the design, planning, deployment, and coordination of in store advertising.
*Created training materials for newly hired employees.
*Perform minute managerial duties in regards to generating financial reports, time cards, and overseeing other non-Pharmacist employees.
*Assisted with bookkeeping.
*Contributed in the implementation of new programs and policies for efficiency in patient care.
*Established Spanish drug labeling information for non-English speaking patients to enhance compliance in drug therapy.
*Developed store questionnaire for hiring Pharmacy Technicians.
Responsible for the following: maintain adequate patient records, typed and filled prescriptions according to physician's orders. Maintain drug inventory.
