Work History

Senior Reservoir Engineer

Shell
05.2011 - Current

Senior Reservoir Engineer – Block 10, Shell Development Oman

  • Design and execution of effective field development plans. Conducting field development planning for Oman Block10, ph2 and ph3 wells including various acceleration options. This leads to de-risking the GSA commitment to LNG project.

Country Resource Focal Point – Shell Deepwater Borneo, Shell Exploration and Production Brunei

  • Ensured compliance with regulatory requirements by maintaining proper documentation for all Reservoir Engineering activities. Accountable for estimation, classification and reporting of Petroleum resources for the two Shell entities in Brunei.

Lead Reservoir Engineer – Majnoon oilfield (Iraq)

  • Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to optimize well placement, completion strategies, and drilling programs. Managed the drilling campaign for infill wells that included quality decision making (e.g., deciding well completion intervals, sample collection using wireline etc.). Coordinated with stakeholders: wells, contractors, geosciences, HSSE and commercial. Wells were safely completed and hooked up leading to first oil.
  • Streamlined decision making with timely recommendations based on rigorous sensitivity analyses across various scenarios. Articulated the value/cost/risk trade-offs for Majnoon second and third tranche infill wells. This involved proposing the optimum well count for the sweet wells, identifying the risks, and proposing mitigation measures. Developed the FDP.
  • Optimized reservoir performance by implementing advanced simulation techniques and workflows. Generated new set of reservoir engineering models for Nahr-Umr Zubair reservoirs which were better at matching latest production history, importantly water breakthrough observed in wells. Proposed new infill locations based on the new model thereby de-risking the new wells.

Project Engineer (Broadening assignment)

  • Strengthened operational success through effective communication between engineering, geoscience, and management teams. Deployed Shell’s Project Management Framework in Opportunity and project teams. Led to visible better project maturation in the front-end teams.

Cost Estimating Engineer (Broadening assignment)

· Cost Estimating: estimated/updated costs for: Harmattan Deep (Egypt), SDB CA2 (Brunei), KPO Gas Strategy project (Kazakhstan), Wind project MunmuBaram (S. Korea) and multiple Decommissioning projects. This enabled robust better decision making on project maturation or divestment.

Strategy Consultant – Shell Internal Consulting Team (Broadening assignment)

· Competitive intelligence: Conducted competitive Intelligence studies for benchmarking Shell’s performance against peers across the E&P landscape.

Senior Petroleum Engineer

Reliance Industries Ltd
09.2007 - 07.2009
  • Performed DST, RFT, sampling and analysis. · Formation Testing and Fluid sampling and PTA: Planned and supervised circa fifteen formation testing jobs in the deep-water Krishna Godavari basin, Gujarat Saurashtra shallow water basin and onshore heavy oil basins in Cambay. Data acquired helped take important decisions such as relinquishment of exploration blocks.
  • Managed multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives within budget and timeline constraints. KG-D6-MA field targeted a thin oil rim overlain by a long gas column with horizontal wells with ICDs and sleeves. Led the operation onboard FPSO Dhirubhai1 till the production stabilized.
  • Evaluated new oilfield opportunities for potential acquisition or investment. Project valuation: Based on limited geological, petrophysical and fluid data, commercial databases and online data room analogues, bids worth several hundred million USD were made for acquisitions in Egypt, Yemen, Venezuela, and Australia.

Staff Reservoir Engineer

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, ONGC
11.2002 - 09.2005

Reservoir Engineer –Lanwa and Bechraji fields

  • Conducted investigations and evaluations into straightforward and advanced oil and gas extraction issues. Modeled the flood front movement for the in-situ combustion pilot project in heavy oil field of Bechraji. Monitored and matched data received from observation wells. Recommendations made were implemented for field scale development. WRFM – opportunity identification, planning and execution using available work-over rig fleet and coordinated with artificial lift teams in the Surface group, ensuring uninterrupted production from heavy oil fields of Lanwa and Bechraji.
  • Coordinated activities of workers engaged in research, planning and development. Planned and executed successful coring operations on two wells of North Kadi, the most prolific field of Mehsana Asset. Followed up characterization. These results were incorporated in the reservoir model which became better in production planning and predicting potential production risks.
  • Optimized well placement with the integration of geological, petrophysical, and production data. · LTRO and in-fill well proposals: Used history matched dynamic models and analytical tools to estimate remaining oil to propose in-fill well locations. Monitored water cut measurements, flow rates, submergence levels (SRP) and pump failure trends to tune the models continuously. Streamlined Asset database using Oilfield management software (OFM) for over two thousand wells and forty-five installations. Also conducted data population in “Finder” database from Schlumberger. Provided training and troubleshooting support to officers in the sub-surface team. This led to better decision-making framework for asset reservoir engineers.
