• Research Assistant at the Liver Transplantation and Hepatopancreaticobiliary Unit (HPB Unit) in the Department of Surgery at American University of Beirut Medical Center

Key Duties and Responsibilities :

• Coordinate multiple research projects related to surgical oncology , cancer treatments and hepatobiliary surgery, including both clinical outcomes and public health aspects
• Prepare and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and amendments
• Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation for research protocols
• Design and implement research studies investigating both clinical outcomes and population health impacts
• Manage comprehensive patient recruitment and informed consent processes
• Conduct patient interviews and clinical data collection for surgical procedures
• Perform statistical analysis and data management for oncology research studies
• Contribute to scientific publications and research output
• Coordinate the tissue bank project and its processes and documentation : Assisting with patient recruitment, data collection and analysis
• Supporting the research team in preparing research reports, presentations, and manuscripts
• Maintaining accurate records following research protocols and documentation standards

• Senior Research Intern, contributed to many research projects and prepared presentations that were shared to university students
• Tasks included: Research around people with disabilities (prevalence, changing trends, COVID impact) and the impact of a larger proportions of the population growing older - focusing on Thailand and Brazil as cases study
• Also conducted a research on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on these issues and how it can help
• Contributing to write a book talking about what is public health
• Published an editorial study review in Frontiers Journal, I am one of the first authors, the editorial titled : 'Silver Fluoride and Caries Management'
• Served as a reviewer for the article 'Acceptance of the use of silver fluoride among parents of children with special health care needs.' published in Frontiers journal
• Research about HPV status in Lebanon : Project lead, writing proposal and designing program for HPV vaccination advocacy in Lebanon
• Researching about the One health concept and relation with Digital Determinants of Health
• Co-author of an article about Global Oral Health Observatory and impact on oral health and overall health

• Supported in research and writing a training manual for healthcare providers who work with pregnant women (containing information about the health risks related to the exposure to chemicals)
• Assisted with data collection for environmental health related projects

• Wrote summaries of systematic reviews, informing policymakers and humanitarian practitioners in designing policies and interventions during disasters and emergencies
• The systematic reviews were tackling various public health issues such as climate change, health of refugees and migrants and their problems in access to care, COVID-19 prevention, children's health, sexual and reproductive health issues, health systems resilience and more
• The summaries are published on the evidence aid website
