Accomplishments

  • Attained Certified Public Manager CPM designation from The Centre for Organization Effectiveness along with a cohort of San Diego local government executives and leaders.
  • As the LUEG GITM, I led the negotiation of a multi-year contract for the Land Use & Environment Group and Air Pollution Control District’s business case management system that resulted in over $800k in project savings and over $2M reduction in operational costs.
  • Representing CoSD on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Geographic Information Source (SanGIS)
  • Worked with the Office of Emergency Services to enhance CrisisTrack, a disaster response tool, to accept self-reports from the public. This greatly enhanced the County’s emergency response to the 2024 floods, allowing us to identify impacted properties and neighborhoods faster, speeding up our response and ability to support residents.
  • Oversaw and advised LUEG IT Staff (28 FTEs), Exec Office GPMs, and other technology staff who support and ensured that our teams had the tools and systems to support our San Diego County’s resources.
  • As the LUEG GPM-IT, I led the development of the technical framework for the EngagementHQ platform (https://engage.sandiegocounty.gov) including the creation of processes for development and approvals, knowledge and support, and management of engagement projects using MS Teams.
  • At PDS, led efforts to reduce costs while maintaining the same level of services through the identification of cost-saving solutions such as early refreshes of technology and replacement of desk phones with cell phones and replacement of rental microfiche readers with the purchase of microfiche scanners that resulted in over $2500 in monthly cost savings.
  • Developed the ConnectWellSD Operational Support Center to provide functional support for ConnectWellSD users, including hiring, training, mentoring, and managing a support specialist that serves as the Incident Management process owner for ConnectWellSD.
  • Led and advised the ConnectWellSD Cybersecurity team comprised of County, ITO, and IBM staff to address Cybersecurity concerns including reassessing ConnectWellSD’s security posture and addressing process and technical weaknesses through a managed plan of action.
  • Worked with the ConnectWellSD Data and Technical teams to maintain security compliance according to NIST 800-53 and applicable laws governing confidential, sensitive, private, and/or patient information, including testing and verifying Attribute-Based Access Controls (ABAC).
  • At ConnectWellSD, I worked on a Remote Identity Proofing (RIDP) solution that involved multi-factor authentication using SMS, government verification via DMV, and challenge questions based on personal information known only to the customer.
  • At ConnectWellSD, I lead the Cybersecurity and AuditVault deployment projects that will further enhance ConnectWellSD’s security posture and methodically address identified weaknesses to ensure the security and privacy of sensitive data.
  • At Rady Children’s Hospital, I managed the team that developed and implemented key ITIL modules (Knowledge Management, Event Management, Release Management, Service Catalog, and CMDB) during Phase 3 implementation of InfraEnterprise on time and without exceeding budget. Added value by assessing and optimizing existing modules (Incident Management, Request Management, and Change Management) through analysis of existing InfraEnterprise system and optimizing to best practices while understanding particularities of our organization.
