Robert Anderson

I volunteered for several years throughout middle and high school at a community church, predominately with their sports camps. I helped with signups, organizing drills and practices, and considering I played sports myself, gave the youth some great tips to develop as an athlete.

I volunteered in the children's ministry at Ocean View Baptist Church during middle and high school. I feel that this was a very important role as instilling a spiritual foundation is important for children's development and well-being. I would conduct activities, scripture lectures, and even craft worship songs/dances.

I participated in varsity baseball and varsity basketball during my high school career. These sports were essential to the development of my character as they instill characteristics essential to success in life. For example, I played point guard in basketball, so it was mostly my role to conduct how the team performed. I had to be strongly communicative as well as a strong leader to the keep the team focused and working efficiently.

I tutored fellow peers throughout my time in high school. Since the majority of my classes were higher level, I took it upon myself to assist classmates in learning the vigorous and extensive material. I would first figure out the students' preferred way of learning information, and integrate that with my knowledge of the curriculum to then translate it into a form of which they best comprehend.

I held several part-time sales associate positions alongside my eduction and athletics. These jobs instilled essential characteristics in me including leadership skills, communication, teamwork, time management, attention to detail, adaptivity, etc. In addition to these skills, I learned several things about business economics, the supply chain, and public health regulations.
