  • Scrum Product Owner for three agile development teams tasked with on time delivery of data systems and platforms to ensure local business and customer data is cleaned, validated, ingested and indexed into Hadoop clusters (HBase, Hive, HDFS) and managed by MESOS in order to provide scalable real time data across customer portals, partner syndication feeds, and internal tools via API’s, emailed CSV files, data visualization dashboards, and syndication endpoints to over 60 partners.
  • Defined all data requirements including the data schema (source, data point definition, data validation, and normalization, availability, and load) and managed the development for each component of YPs data platforms including a suite of restful API endpoints, XML Feeds, marketing automation engine, HTML scraping tool using Ghost Proxies, ETL processing, and data storage to receive and syndicate data in order to provide actionable business intelligence and customer insights.
  • Identify and evaluate potential syndication partners such as Facebook For Business, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram and 60 other technology companies to gather business intelligence and develop a Social Media presence for local businesses, in terms of the opportunity cost, value propositions, cost/benefit analysis, and ability to meet the data requirements for all of YP’s ad products.
  • Rebuilt the data platform using a micro-services architecture (Kafka, Mesos, Hive, Hadoop) leading to a two-fold increase in platform capacity, growing form a max of 500K API calls a day to a normal operating load of 1M API calls a day and the ability to quickly scale to 1.5M when needed. In addition, the new platform architecture cut hosting costs by 3M a year and reduced development time to integrate or launch a new component or module to just 2 days.
  • Rebuilt syndicated data APIs (XML/JSON) and marketing automation endpoints; redesigned platform on Kafka/Mesos to scale from 0.5M to 1.5M calls/day, cutting hosting costs by $3M annually.
