Served as the senior pastor of Pawleys Island Baptist Church from 1983 to 2007. While serving as pastor, implemented Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered 12-step program developed by AA (Alcoholics Anomymous) which can be utilized both in individual and group settings as a tool to help individuals recover from addictions and other mental health issues. Let numerous mission trips for members of the congregation to Guatemala.
Upon retirement from the pastorate went back to school to obtain a Masters Degree in counseling and opened up a private counseling practice, seeing anywhere from 15 to 30 clients a week. Organized small groups for men recovering from addictions and managing life issues.
