I am a retired Director of Public Works, City Engineer with 28 years public service locally, I currently work part-time for the City of Arcata in the Engineering department and also as a Captain of a local Humboldt Bay Passenger ferry/tourist vessel carrying up to 42 passengers on 90 minute narrated excursions in the Bay. I am a dynamic leader/ captain who enjoys public service and being helpful to the public as well as my co-workers.

I am adept in port operations and maritime regulations. I have a proven track record in ensuring timely arrivals/departures to the dock while maintaining compliance, I am also responsible for enhancing crew management and safety procedures. I have always been a customer service oriented leader throughout my very public career, I am committed to excellence and continuous improvement in all my endeavors.
