- I have served as a teacher in the CCSS for 12 years. The first 9 were spent as a U.S. History teacher at Lake City Middle School. Then I spent a year as a full time sub at Columbia High School. The last 3 I have taught U.S. History, World History , U.S. Government and Economics. I have always had a very good relationship with my students , administration, and faculty members. Before teaching I spent 35 years owning and operating a business in Lake City. During that time I spent 7 years as an assistant softball coach at Columbia High and it sparked my interest in becoming a teacher. Although I’m an older man , I am in very good health and don’t look my age at all. I am still active athletically and don’t shy away when it’s necessary to intervene in verbal and physical disputes. The safety of the students is my number one priority and I believe an important part of my job. I am constantly reading and learning about history so that I can be as well informed as possible.
