Volunteer Experience

Operator, 11/93, 01/97, Operation Philadelphia Outreach, Philadelphia, PA, Friends and I that grew up together decided we needed to do something to help the homeless in Philadelphia. We devised a plan and with the help (of then Kennedy Health System) we placed collection boxes in each of the hospital facilities and corporate building collecting slightly used clothes, blankets and coats. We made food and took cases of water and distributed throughout center city and Liberty park. It only lasted a few years because jobs took us to other states but it was a well organized effort that even made the Courier Post one year.
