Robert Graham

As Community Engagement Specialist at The Arc Mercer, I created and taught a course on TV/Film production for adults with intellectual disabilities. This gave the students a new outlet to express themselves creatively, while simultaneously learning a new vocational skill. In addition, I acted as writer, director, and editor for video projects , often using my own students as the crew. I also acted as art teacher.

As teacher, I

• Educated the consumers on the purpose and operation of the equipment necessary for video production, including cameras, tripods, lights, microphones, audio recorders, and cables.
• Developed strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues by maintaining open lines of communication and fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Enhanced students' creative writing skills by providing constructive feedback and guidance on their work.
• Managed classroom behavior effectively by establishing clear expectations, modeling appropriate conduct, and consistently enforcing established rules and consequences.
• Enhanced classroom engagement through the use of interactive teaching methods, such as group projects and hands-on activities.
• Maintained accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior to facilitate ongoing communication with parents and guardians about the students' educational journey.

As content creator, I

• Worked on location to shoot promotional videos, tutorial videos, narrative short films, fitness videos, and a news program.
• Conceived, crafted and executed dynamic video edits to captivate target audiences and accomplish project objectives.
• Enhanced video quality by applying color correction, grading, and special effects techniques.
• Developed engaging scripts by conducting research
• Worked effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Worked well in a team setting, providing support and guidance.
