I have been a volunteer firefighter since the age of 14 which has taught me throughout the years to work hard and train harder. There's never a day that you can not learn something new to help you in your work, personal life, and many other ways. A day wasted of not paying attention and learning from others is a day that you have fallen behind. Throughout the years of being on the volunteer department I have worked myself up from a junior firefighter to now being the first assistant chief which includes getting training together for the other members of the department as well as maintaining a safe and in order fire grounds. I also carry on the role of the being the vice president of the fire department and hold the vice president seat in the board of directors which allows me to voice the opinions and wants/needs of the younger generation and firefighters on the department.
