Learned all about spices, helped customers find the proper spice for their dishes and pantry, and recommended dishes pair with particular spices.

• Managed all financial aspects of the business, including budgeting, financial reporting, and tax preparation.
• Created, planned and wrote multiple marketing plans. Wrote almost all copy. Managed email and social media. Created ads for multiple advertisers.
• Created multiple websites and social media accounts. Wrote copy, formatted posts and managed these sites and accounts.
• Created and maintained several back of the house programs that worked off the databases of POS systems. These enabled inventory ordering including vended interfaces, in-store signs and reports, and inventory control. Used Paradox, Excel, Access, SQL.
• Hosted thousands of wine dinners and wine tastings. Created menus and event design with chefs, winemakers and industry professionals.
• Traveled to wineries at home and abroad to learn about and experience their wines and stories.
• Speak German, enough French and Italian to get by, and can read menus and wine descriptions in those plus Spanish.
• Forged strong working relationships with wholesalers, importers, winemakers and other industry professionals.
• As the face of the business, became the indispensable wine expert for my customers.

Started as a waiter, then added managing the wine list working with wine vendors and winemakers while educating the staff. Eventually added managing the front of the house.

Worked as a waiter in all parts of the club: Tap Room, Main Dining Room, and banquets.
