Senior State Trooper

1997-2003: I was a state trooper assigned to patrol the roadways of the Commonwealth of Virginia. I was responsible for the assistance of motorists in distress, investigating criminal and traffic offenses. My responsibilities included communicating with diverse citizens under cordial and adversarial conditions. I am required to be professional, respectful, and compassionate while fulfilling my duties.

2003-2005: I was promoted to the rank of Special Agent. I was assigned first to the Insurance Fraud Division where I received training and conducted investigations specific to insurance fraud. I worked with insurance companies SIU investigators and investigated insurance fraud allegations. I conducted investigations that exonerated individuals and also conducted investigations that resulted in the criminal convictions of individuals. This position required the use of computers, Microsoft operating systems, along with other databases. I was also required to verbally interview victims, witnesses, and suspects. I was required to compile the complaints, interviews, and evidence in a report for review and/ or prosecution by the prosecutors office of the jurisdiction of the offense. I was required to testify in court as a witness during the prosecution of cases.

2005: I worked in an undercover capacity in my departments narcotics unit. I was responsible for investigating the sale and distribution of illicit narcotics distribution in an undercover capacity. I was responsible for identifying illegal distributors of narcotics, conduct investigations, and arrest the individuals illegally dispensing and selling narcotics illegally.

2005-current: I have the title of Senior State Trooper. I have the same responsibilities of a lower ranking state trooper with additional responsibilities to management. I am responsible for field training new troopers for a minimum of six to eight weeks, and possibly longer. This field training required daily monitoring and guidance which had to be compiled in weekly written evaluations. I am among the highest in seniority that provides assistance and guidance to less senior troopers as needed.

I attended and successfully completed diesel electric student mechanic training at the Norfolk Southern training center in McDonough GA after completing the school I successfully completed the apprenticeship program who lasted over one year to receive my full completion certificate to be a diesel electric locomotive mechanic.

I performed federally mandated safety inspections, diagnosed mechanical problems, and made mechanical repairs to the engine, brakes, and drivetrain of diesel electric locomotives.

Accomplishments

In 1990, I successfully completed the Norfolk Southern student mechanic school in McDonough GA. I then completed a one year apprenticeship to receive my diesel electric locomotive mechanic certification.

In 1997, I successfully completed the Roanoke City Police Department academy. I then completed eight weeks of field training.

In 1997, I successfully completed the Virginia State Police Academy. I then successfully completed field training. I have worked for this employer for the past 28 years. I have successfully completed certifications in the following:

- Field training Officer

- At scene level-1 crash reconstruction

- Basic tactical team operators course (SWAT) while as a member of my department's SWAT team.

- Basic Special Agent School

- NICB Phase 1 training as an insurance fraud agent

- NICB Phase 2 trying as an insurance fraud agent.

- Narcotics Agent basic school as a narcotics agent.

- I have successfully trained numerous state troopers that have advanced to higher levels in our agency and federal agencies.

- I have successfully investigated and produced investigations by myself for case involving DUI, terrorism , manslaughter, and manslaughter.

- I have been awarded the second highest award in my hence for merit based on my investigations and actions as a state trooper.

Superindendents Award of Merit

The first award was awarded for an investigation in Northern Virginia in 2002. The case was taken over for prosecution by the FBI based on my investigation. The investigation drew a lot of media attention along with civilian interest. 


The second award of merit was a result of and event that I responded to on January 6, 2021 in Washington DC. I was also given a certificate and award for valor from the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department.
