In charge of vessel operations, including safety, navigation, crew management, crew training, compliance with regulatory requirements, etc. Worked staff Master my last year. Relief master prior 5 years. Regular Master prior 4 years. At WSF all deck personnel start as OS. Worked OS 1997, AB 1998, 2nd Mate 1999, Chief Mate until earning Master position.

As Master, in charge of all operations on large factory fishing vessels operating in Alaskan waters. AS Mate, in charge of crew operations and administrative functions.

Worked deck watch on large commercial vessel (Ocean Phoenix, ex APL President Kennedy). Vessel was a factory processing vessel for approximately 6 catcher boats. At end of seasons transited to Japan to offload cargo.
