Summary
Except for the first few years of my professional career as a draftsman and then a project designer, the whole of my working life has centered around application engineering and inside sales in the electrical power and distribution industry.
This is my passion and my joy. The process of deconstructing specifications, data sheets and drawings and reassembling them into a workable lineup of switchgear and controls, developing the technical and commerical proposal, submitting to the client and ultimately resulting in a successful order for the company is as rewarding today as it was when I first began.

Develop commerical and technical proposal packets for Medium Voltage Metal-Clad Switchgear, Low Voltage Metal-Enclosed Switchgear, Medium Voltage Load Interrupter Switchgear, Medium Voltage and Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, Relay Panels and Generator Control and Distribution Switchgear.
Apply applicable standards and clarify bid parameters with customers as necessary, offer cost and/or footprint reductions, enhanced safety or performance suggestions (such as arc resistant construction, arc flash detection schemes, digital multifunction relay systems, etc.) and resolve any issues that impinge on proposal completion.
Act as mentor for junior application engineering team, offering guidance on ANSI, IEEE, NEMA and PIP standards, ABS and USCG rules (marine segment) and assisting with switchgear design configurations, circuit breaker wiring diagrams, protective relay applications and similar aspects of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage power and distribution product lines.
Liaison with proposal management team and production engineering department as required.
