  • Prepared and implemented lesson plans covering required course topics.
  • Assessed submitted class assignments, determined grades and reviewed work with struggling students to boost success chance.
  • Provided meaningful math instruction to improve math skills of students.
  • Developed and distributed study guides to reinforce lecture details and help students with test preparation.
  • Encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving to help students develop mathematical reasoning.

Teaching Assistant

Drexel University
08.2018 - 06.2021
  • Taught several recitations including Business Calculus, Multivariate Calculus, and Scientific Data Analysis for biology.
  • Improved student outcomes by offering extra tutoring sessions
  • Taught a Discrete Mathematics and Probability courses.
  • Instructor for weekly tutoring in Drexel Mathematics Resource Center.

Tutor

La Salle University
09.2017 - 05.2018
  • Maintained office hours in the mathematics tutoring room two days a week.
  • Helped students in several undergraduate math classes with class work and test preparation.

Skills

  • Highly motivated and analytical
  • Proficient with Python, R, and Julia
  • Effective public speaking skills
  • Experienced with student assessments, grading assignments and mentoring students
  • Effective communicator of complex mathematical topics
  • Enjoy working as part of a team

Computer Skills

I am competent in using Python, Julia and R for data analysis. I taught a recitation for two semesters of a scientific data analysis course for biology majors that used R to cover various topics including testing differences in means, running regressions, testing whether data was normally distributed, data visualization, analysis of covariance, and multi-factor analysis of variance. I am also proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as LaTex.

Research

  • For the last year of my time at Drexel University, I was studying Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods in pursuit of my PhD. I was most recently working on a project comparing the theoretical convergence rates of various Monte Carlo Methods to their convergence rates in practice.
  • In the Spring semester of 2017 I participated in a semester-long research class studying consecutive and highly total prime labeling in graphs. I presented this research at the Philadelphia Undergraduate Mathematics Conference hosted by La Salle University, on March 25, 2017. I also wrote a paper on this research which was published by the Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal in 2019.
  • I received a grant from La Salle University to do research on reconfiguration graphs of prime labeling with Dr. Janet Fierson. We presented this research at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Diego January 2018.
