Robert Solway

The City of Paso Robles (population of 30k) has a fleet of over 250 pieces of equipment and vehicles, this includes all public works, City Hall, Fire department, Police department as well as community services.

My duties were to maintain all vehicles and equipment as well as supervise all fleet mechanics. Responsibilities also included, tracking of inventory and surplus, as well as order all replacement vehicles and equipment, including the installation of all police vehicles specialized emergency and safety additions required.

I was also the interim supervisor of the street sweeping program.

Some of the accomplishments that I am most proud of while employed by the City of Paso Robles include:

Cost savings while ordering the necessary vehicles for the entire city.

Reducing down time on all emergency services vehicles (Police and Fire).

Maintaining a safe and productive Fleet department while keeping cost down.

Coastal Tractor is a New Holland dealership that offers agricultural as well as construction equipment.

My duties included:

Supervising the mechanics both in the shop and on field calls.

Performing mechanical repairs in the shop as well as the field.

Schedule all shop and field jobs.

Order maintain inventory of all parts needed for repairs. Track and reduce equipment down time to ensure customer satisfaction.
