Summary
I am a strategic, mission-focused public-safety and security executive with more than 33 years of progressive experience spanning law-enforcement command, tactical and investigative operations, corporate critical-infrastructure protection, emergency management, and advanced officer training.
Most recently, I served as Director of Advanced Training for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy, where I directed standards, quality, staffing, instructor readiness, curriculum, documentation, and continuous improvement for a statewide training portfolio. During my OPOTA tenure, I helped increase annual course offerings from 256 to 553 and officers trained from 3,538 to 9,107 while supporting the development and implementation of 44 new courses.
Previously, as a Columbus Division of Police commander, I led complex patrol, tactical, investigative, and homeland-security operations involving as many as 199 officers and 90 detectives. My background also includes 17 years supporting Huntington National Bank in corporate security, critical-infrastructure protection, CPTED, access control, video monitoring, emergency planning, and multi-agency security operations.
I am recognized for clear communication, sound operational judgment, and collaborative leadership. I translate complex requirements into practical standards, effective training, accountable processes, and measurable improvements. As a Doctor of Business Administration and graduate of FBI National Academy Session #279, I bring both a practitioner’s experience and an academic perspective to leadership development. I am especially interested in university teaching opportunities that would allow me to connect theory with real-world practice and pass these lessons to future law-enforcement and public-safety leaders through relevant instruction, mentorship, and performance-focused coaching grounded in integrity, character, and empathy.
