Statewide responsibility for implementing the Wetland and Wildlife aspects of USDA Farm Bill Programs. These include Wetland Identification/Delineation and enforcing the Swampbuster provisions of the 1985 Farm Bill, as amended. Also, training staff in assisting private landowners in improving wildlife habitat through control and management of Invasive Species, and the identification and protection of State and Federal T&E species.
Statewide responsibility for implementation of all the wetland aspects of the 1985 Farm Bill, as amended. Duties include: completion of an NRCS Wetland Inventory in every County; enforcing the Swampbuster aspects of the Farm Bill, including wetland restoration and mitigation activities. Being the NRCS representative in the State Multi-Agency Wetland/Wildlife Group.
