Affiliations

For almost 40 years, I was a local entertainer, working for long periods of time in the most exclusive hotel lounges and fine dining restaurants. Whenever I could donate my talents to raise funds for charity events that were close to my heart, I made sure to make myself available.

Since singing was my primary profession for many years, I was able to bring my interpersonal skills to the pharmacy profession, translating my ability to handle people in the most difficult situations and defuse any problems that required delicate interactions.

While I continued to pursue my passion for entertaining during my pharmacy tenure, my public visibility made customers comfortable with me, almost as though I were an old friend, making the transition seamless.

My memory skills play a pivotal role in the transition as well, as recalling the lyrics to over hundreds of songs sung over the years, it was easy for me to recall details of patient allergies, insurance information, and medication lists for many of my patients and their family members.

Accomplishments

  • Prior to my employment with Publix Supermarkets, I was a supervising technician at K-Mart Pharmacy. Shortly after I started my pharmacy career, I decided to go all in and become PTCB certified, which was not required by my employer or the state of Alabama.
  • When the Prop Act during COVID went into effect, because the demand for COVID-19 vaccines was extremely high, the federal government allowed pharmacy technicians to become immunizers to assist with the volume. I was the first of all the technicians in my district to pay for that education, and to be recognized by the state of Alabama.

Certification

  • PTCB National Certification.
  • Alabama Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Alabama Registered L.M.T.
  • NCTMB Certified.
