  • Plan, and execute the day to day operations of 68 college students, attending 3 different universities, with the ultimate goal of earning a commission in the United States Navy or Marine Corps.
  • I focus on developing each student physically, mentally and morally beginning with morning physical training and working through a full academic course load throughout the academic year.
  • Develop a team of 68 college students to manage the transition from civilian to Naval or Marine Corps Officers.
  • Tasked with training, educating, and mentoring future military leaders.
  • Forecast and execute annual operating budget of over $1.2M ensuring that appropriate allocations are made and tuition for students is paid in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Weapons and Tactics Instructor HMH-463 Kaneohe Bay Hi Managed all missions and tasking assigned to the maintenance department, to include developing and implementing squadron standard operating procedures as well as tracking and forecasting readiness of 11 CH-53E aircraft and associated equipment valued at over $220 million.
  • Oversee the training and readiness of all aircrew within the squadron and ensures that sound operational risk assessment controls have been implemented prior to all flight evolutions.
  • I was selected to move to this squadron after the Commanding Officer had been relieved, numerous failed inspections and a tragic mishap resulting in the loss of 2 aircraft and twelve crew members.
  • My primary mission was culture change and rebuilding the squadron.
  • Within eighteen months of arriving at the squadron, HMH-463 was named squadron of the year, readiness had significantly improved and flight hours increased by 80%.
  • Implemented Lean Six Sigma training resulting in 15 yellow belt trained and 4 green belt trained Marines.
  • This training directly resulted in a CPI project to reduce corrosion of aircraft.
  • This project produced 4 recommendations that were implemented and will save the Marine Corps both time in maintenance man hours and money due to the extended life of components that were corroding before their service life.
  • Achieved an aircraft readiness level that allowed the squadron to accomplish its annual flight hour goal and meet pilot production metrics that had not been made for 3 previous years.
  • Rewrote the Marine Aircraft Group 24 Standard Operating Procedure which sets a baseline for operations across 5 different Marine Corps Aviation Platforms.
