As a GS-11 Lieutenant I served as the subject matter expert during meetings with department heads on issues dealing with Correctional Services/Programs.
I have developed/implemented local procedures and control measures for effective management of inmates, programs, and activities, while enhancing the institution security and order. I served as subject expert in the field of corrections, analyze information and make recommendations on security matters. I interpreted and enforced policy at the institution level and ensured compliance with ACA standards. Developed internal policies and procedures implemented throughout the institution, monitor the effectiveness of those procedures, and modified them accordingly. Directly supervised staff to ensure the inmate daily needs are addressed. Reviewed all paperwork routed from unit team, responded to Inmate Requests to Staff, and Administrative Remedies.
Prepared numerous responses to inmates for the Warden’s signature in reference to Inmate Request to Staff and Request for Administrative Remedy. Prepared Employee Performance Log Entries and Appraisals. I prepared photo sheets and chain of custody documents for contraband discovered and relayed to all concerned.
