During car seat challenge, infant is continuously monitored via electrocardiogram and pulse oximeter. Infant is observed in car seat and monitored for apnea, bradycardia, low oxygen saturation and of any distress while in the car seat for 90 minutes.
  • Administered IV antibiotics to infants when ordered.
  • Assisted physician or nurse practitioner with circumcisions and followed all appropriate Joint Commission standards. Assessments performed after circumcisions for monitoring of abnormal bleeding and other signs. Provided interventions for any problems that may arise post circumcision.
  • Assisted mother with breastfeeding, education given on proper positioning, correct latch, feeding frequency and other information that would encourage successful breastfeeding.
