Personal Goal:
With a strong background in ASL interpreting, both in the educational and community setting. My goal is to ensure Deaf/HH students have full access to education by facilitating communication within the classroom. Known for being the advocate for students when unable and the empowerment of self-advocacy. With a high focused on team collaboration, achieving results, and maintaining high standards, my goal is to promote full accessibility and equality within the classroom.
As an educational interpreter, it is my role to provide facilitated communication between the Deaf/HH student within the classroom. To remain impartial, refraining from counsel or advising. It is within my duties to empower the student in self-advocacy, fostering growth and autonomy. As an educational interpreter, it is also a responsibility to continue my education and growth, to serve my student to the best of my ability.
After completing my graduate program at the University of North Florida, my goal is to become proficient as a ProTactile Interpreter for DeafBlind individuals
