• Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.

Worked as remote Performance Improvement Coordinator for a Trauma team. Annual trauma admissions 3000 plus annually. Responsible for review of trauma charts, identifying NTDB and facility filter fallouts. Prepared cases for presentation and evaluation to the team at Secondary and Peer reviews. Acted as a resource for the team for ACS/TQIP updates. Participated in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in the field of Trauma nursing.

• Routinely reports infections to NSHN matching the definitions for nosocomial infections.
• Reports routine data findings as appropriate to hospital personnel (infection trends, compliance surveys, etc.).
• Responsible for annual evaluation and modification (as necessary) of hospital Infection Control Plan.
• Develops action plans for improvement based on data analysis and completes annual Risk Assessment.
• Educates as appropriate to both hospital staff and physicians on infection prevention techniques and compliance.
• Assists in Tracer Activities and survey readiness.
• Assists audits and other performance improvement activities for the hospital related to infection control.
• Help with RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and FMEA (Failure Modes Effects Analysis) activities as appropriate.
• Makes routine rounds in hospital departments to check for compliance.
