Work History

Industrial Engineer / Aircraft Process Engineer

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast
02.2022 - Current
  • I am in charge of developing new production lines for NAS JAX in Florida . I can analyze and use PUBs or Tech data to design the process of each aircraft; carry out identification of tools in accordance with the process; Identify special equipment necessary to repair the plane in time. In addition, I performed calculations of aircraft repair times, and the number of employees required at the time of repair, these times and this information are used to monitor and create the WO of each repair. I hold meetings regarding budgeting to know which areas I can work more than others and make equipment purchases to increase productivity in the short and long term. I take into consideration the process, the equipment to be used, number of employees, transportation and time, for the design of the facilities.
  • Led process improvement initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency across multiple engineering projects.
  • I’m in charge of keeping the Aircraft lines running, this means that I must solve any situation that could put the continuous production of the line at risk. I am able to maintain tool design projects, continuous improvements in the process, reduction of TAT through changes in the process, complete and maintain the pipe line of the F-5 line and previously in trainers line, create the Concerto templates and make the changes required to meet deadlines or manage tasks. In addition, I have knowledge of the area of electrical and computer engineering, this helps me understand the operation of machines or equipment to make improvements to them.
  • I managed to carry out continuous improvement projects during the different phases and areas of the process. Managed to control projects by having meetings with the contractors, the clients, and engineers. In addition, I used drawings, graphs, diagrams and simple designs so that everyone could understand. This gave the employees the opportunity to complete their part of the collaboration in the project in a more efficient way.
  • I create templates, plans and re-planning. In charge of making the calculations stipulate the approximate time to fix the aircrafts. When making changes to the projects, I use the specifications given by the client and with the program specifications. To calculate new projects, I use tools to create their templates; I calculate the critical change, the buffer time, and the workdays vs current time. I create the milestones according to the critical change and add the kit boxes that the Project requires. After providing all this information, the client reviews it, then lets me know if the Project template meets their needs, since sometimes the needs tend to change, or tells me if they have new needs so I can make the changes stipulated in the template.
  • I have carried out electrical projects on machinery, facilities and legal changes or standardization of existing circuits. Sometimes these projects must be carried out as part of maintenance, so that they comply with electrical standards or because we have new equipment which requires electrical specifications for their protection. During this type of project, I maintain continuous communication with the workshops and workers. These projects are complex; therefore, the information must be treated in a different way. I write to workers and workshops with complete terminologies and precise calculations, this helps me channel and standardize the vocabulary we use when working on projects. In the management area, I provided more basic information such as: Electrical projects on the production line or in facilities, status of the projects, day on which it is expected to finish, I explained the benefits of the Project and the reasons why it is priority or not.
  • Facilities and transportation: I communicate the plan to management to verify that there will be no interruption of the process or for possible re-planning. After planning carefully, I sent a request to NAFAC summarizing the Project plan, after submitting the SR with detailed instructions I stay in continuous communication with the group of workers or contractor and write all updates on the project list to maintain clean and clear communication between us and the client.
  • FOD: After extensive research on how to manage FOD on a production line, I begin by identifying the critical areas, the materials from the experimental phase that were identified, and then I design the area in fabric (since it was the areas in which the drawing of the aircraft was the same). In the smaller areas or with more details they were different from the drawings we have, to resolve this situation I use a scanner in these areas. With the results of the scanner, I designed some 3D printed “caps”, the same was left with precise measurements and was used as a template to cut the rest. This gives us the opportunity to save the template to cut more caps in the future. After creating the cockpit cover, I designed the ergonomic parts. For this, perform a VOC on employees to identify the number of people working during the process and the position of the person at the time of work.
  • I create multiples trainings, after analyze the process and watch the employees working ; identify the parts removed from the airplane, identify the tools used, identify the tools that were broken or damaged and send them for repair; In addition, I identified which parts of the process took longer and with the “5 Why?” Identify reasons to improve them. Use this phase to design and resolve the reasons for the delay during this process (3D printer parts, tools, and employee ergonomics). After identifying the client’s needs, I send a list to PAO to make the recording schedule. Simultaneously, I communicate with management to plan the Project without stopping or interrupting production. I meet with the most experienced mechanics to plan the type of vocabulary that was going to be used during the recording, in addition we identified the pieces to be explained and prepared a scenario for the video and training. After taking the videos, they were edited to present them to management and employees. This will help us save information for future generations of employees and can serve as a guide for current employees because the video provides more detailed and visual steps to follow.
  • AutoCAD: perform the standardization of Layout the H1000 according to the Facilities instructions. During this Project, identify the electrical areas, Shop/Area Space Assignment, Breakrooms, Bathrooms/Locker rooms/Showers, Electrical Vaults, Fire Protection Zones, Incoming Mains and Control Panels, HVAC (Chillers, Air Handlers, Cooling Towers, etc.), Hazmat/HazWaste Sites, Warehousing/Storage Space, Transportation Drop Locations, and Weight Handling. The layout created is a complete one, it includes the following disciplines: architecture, geo-technical, civil, process, electrical, fire protection, general, hazardous materials, interiors, landscape and mechanical.
  • I assist in the identification of possible projects in the line without being awarded to me. I can increase the quality of the process with small projects that do not involve changes in the line or any type of extra complexity to the work done on the airplanes.
  • Reduction of time in the process: I am carrying out a continuous improvement project which will help us reduce the time in the process. I made trainings so that the floor employee can have a better understanding of how to do the process so that he does not have to repeat the steps.
  • Removed equipment that is no longer used. While applying the 5s, we identified which equipment or components of equipment were placed on the walls were not necessary or were no longer in use.
  • I created the process for T- 45 and F-5 aircraft individually.
  • I created the pipeline for F-5 aircraft line. I make emergency changes, whether removing or adding tasks, time, or employees to the Aircraft process. I maintain and sustained all F-5 templates. I adapt the templates and process to meet production needs.
  • I create the template for the first F-5 SERDIP aircraft at the depot. I work with production and engineering to Perform timing analysis to create the durations in concerto for the T-45 wing.
  • Guide projects through all phases: one of the tools I created is Adapters for hydraulic clamp. Currently this tool is used in the hardest area of the T-45 wing. I design parts for the T-45 process when seeing the possibility of an improvement, this helps to reduce time. I made the Universal fitting for the T-45 wing in a 3D printer.
  • I monitor the process of special tools like drill pilots to ensure that their material, design, and use meet TC or PUBS standards. I monitor facility projects and compare the project with UFC 4-211-01 to ensure we are compliant with the building and facility maintenance code.
  • Create and maintain facility: - I constantly perform 5S to keep the spaces in H1000 in their optimal conditions. - Perform space analysis to design the T-45, T-38 and F-5 lines. -I always keep the shops, and H1000. I present the leaders our “future plans” for the facilities area.
  • AutoCAD drawings: - I always keep our layouts up to date, and I create all possible facility renovation ideas (T-45, F-5 and T-38) in AutoCAD so they’re more visual and It gives production the opportunity to have multiple layouts..
  • Analyzed performance data to identify areas for operational enhancements and cost reductions.
  • Mentored junior engineers, fostering skill development and promoting best practices within the team.
  • Developed and implemented strategies for optimizing resource allocation and workflow management.
  • Designed labor utilization standards to balance worker efficiency with employee satisfaction, increasing overall productivity and satisfaction.
