Team Building
undefinedI worked for Bel Air for 40 years in that time I held many positions starting with a courtesy clerk, then went to night crew were i learned how to manage my time to how to order. From there I move to checker and liquor manager were I worked closely with outside vendors on a daily basis. This were I learned how work outside companies on what was best for the company on inventory control and what made the most money for the company. I did not let the vendors bring in product the would not sell in my store. Then I got promoted to warehouse receiving clerk this were my organizational skill came into play I had a place for every thing. A example is hand trucks had it own return location. They were to be returned to the location that they were found. That way anyone looking for one would know were to find one saving time. My warehouse was always clean and clear of debris. I kept the floors moped. I was was on a team call subject matter specialist were i would go to store in my district and train any new procedures that the company was rolling out. From training the new way that we would be moving foreword with inventory.
I was asked to be on a special project call Project Simplify each one on the team would have a store. We work closely with the store director with the changes that I was going to make in there store. For a month I would work in that store and make changes in the store that would help with store operations, and find ways to be more efficient through simplification, better flow in the work place, better flow, less steps. and reduce cost in supplies and labor.
I then went to work Acosta as a Unit Manager my territory was all of northern California and Reno. Were I had a team of reps that would go into grocery stores and make sure that the companies that we represented product was on the shelf and in the right location and had the right amount of facings. We would the schematics from that store to verify all was correct. As a manager I would pull reports to make sure that all questions were answered. I would make power point presentations for clients of there product on shelves and end displays .I would pulled reports using excel and adjust them or make my own reports. I would verify payroll each week for the reps on my team checking to make sure the each person was not under paid or over paid
With my 40+ years in retail grocery industry i would make a great fit and a asset to the company for the position as supervisor
