At Trinidad's CDC i worked as a childcare Assistant and Maintanance. I would would find myself caring for the children when the staff would get overwhelmed and i would sanitize and make sure everything was full and up to date. While working here I:

• Observed play activities to identify positive behaviors and areas in need of improvement, implementing behavior redirection where appropriate.
• Applied positive behavior management techniques to enhance social interactions and emotional development.
• Maintained effective schedule balance between rest periods, active play and instruction.
• Read and told stories to promote and support overall language development.
• Sanitized dishes, tabletops, toys and frequently touched surfaces to prevent spreading of germs.
• Maintained accurate and detailed records of enrollments, attendance, health and safety, emergency contact information and incident reports.
• Enforced rules and managed behavior through developmentally appropriate discipline.
• Engaged with children individually to encourage physical activity and academic curiosity.
• Maintained child-friendly environment by allowing frequent access to outdoor activities.

This was my first job and it is actually a program for the youth to enhance job knowledge as they come of age to later be employed. While working here I:

• Mentored at-risk youth to improve personal wellbeing and academic performance.
• Maintained clean, neat and operational facilities to serve all program needs.
• Collected trash and debris from public locations.
• Prepared nutritious snacks and meals for program participants.
• Mowed lawns, cut bushes and blew off pavement.
• Went door to door checking on vulnerable residents, offering companionship, and handling individual needs.

While working here I established a better sense of working for a company and taking accountability for the tasks that have and need to be completed.
