Cook 2: As a cook operator I worked the front end of the ethanol making process.
Duties include pulling and testing samples throughout the fermentation process.
I also tested solids, CIP strength, pH readings of the acid, liquefaction, slurry, fermentation samples, and performed yeast counts.
Also use HPLCs to test ethanol, DP4, DP3, and other acids in fermentation.
Energy: Operating the part of the plant that helps energize the plant by supplying steam pressure.
Duties also include pulling and testing samples every hour, while monitoring the computer.
Maintaining and keeping records of pressures, temperatures, and moistures of the dried Distillers grains and wet cake with the use of instruments such as Ohaus Moisture Analyzers and Omni mark Analyzers.
Grains: Responsibilities are unloading corn truck and railcars, loading dried Distillers grain and wet cake with the use of a frontend loader.
Operated Genie Lift, Bobcat, and Frontend Loader.
