To Whom It May Concern, Gabriella Mucilli, Transformative Justice Coordinator, Bronx Academy for Software Engineering, 914-217-6559, gabriella@bronxsoftware.org, I have the great pleasure of energetically recommending Rodney Rodriguez to join your business community. Rodney is a reflective and considerate young man who makes positive choices for himself and his future day in and day out. Rodney takes his education, his learning and his growth as a human very seriously. I have seen him grow and develop as a young person and have seen him take on challenges, succeed and reflect on the experiences that have touched his life. Rodney takes on the responsibility of leadership through many programs, supporting his own growth as well as the growth of others. During Rodney's senior year of High School, I supervise and teach a Peer Group Connection (PGC) course. Rodney interviewed and was accepted into this program alongside 28 students from his grade. Throughout the course of the 2023-2024 school year, Rodney and his classmates participated in activities and discussions that promote community transformation. Rodney is an incredible member of this community, building connections with 9th graders in a way that stimulates and develops certain life-skills necessary to be successful. Working as a PGC leader, Rodney continues to gain valuable skills in facilitation. He was also able to build his capacity for using activities to facilitate discussions. This skill is directly connected to the work that one would do within your community. I am honored to have worked with Rodney over the last few years in an extracurricular club known as Youth Leadership Council (YLC). YLC's goals are to promote Transformative Justice throughout our school community as well as advocate and teach others about TJ practices. I remember Rodney working on a project, collaborating with his group effortlessly towards a common goal. He works with others in order to get to the most equitable solution and he is courageous to speak up when observing inequities. Rodney is brave, kind and curious about the world around him. Rodney has shown leadership and incredible growth throughout his high school experiences. I am excited to continue to see him grow as a person as well as a member of your community.
