• System Maintenance: Ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of aerostat systems, including avionics, fiber optics, electrical systems, and weather sensors.
• Inventory & Logistics: Maintain adequate levels of helium, petroleum/oil/lubricants (POL), spare parts, tools, and other site materials.
• Launch & Recovery Director (LRD):
• Assess weather and system readiness.
• Conduct pre-flight checks.
• Direct launch, monitor flight, and manage recovery procedures.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Lead efforts to identify and resolve system issues, including repairs and modifications.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on operational status, flying time, downtime, maintenance, logistics, helium usage, and safety concerns.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce operational, maintenance, security, and safety protocols throughout all phases of aerostat activity.
• Training: Mentor and train junior technicians on aerostat operations and maintenance.
• Proficiency with mechanical and electrical hand tools.
• Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and engineering data.
• Skilled in soldering, wiring, and using specialized test equipment.
• Experience operating special-purpose vehicles like man lifts and forklifts.
