Work History

Site Surveyor/ Designer

Texas Solar
Dallas, Texas
07.2023 - 12.2024
  • As a Site Surveyor, you need to Communicate with the home owners, as best as you can. Let them know that you're on the way, and what time you will be there. Very Important because the customers are relying on you to show up, so they can start their solar journey & move forward with their desires and next steps.
  • A lot of drive time & Always Traveling by my self through the whole state of Texas. Like The DFW, El Paso, Lubbock, Amarillo, Texarkana, Odessa, Midland, Tyler, Austin, and pretty much any small city in-between.
  • My Responsibilities & task I would do once I get to the Home Owners House would be very consistent. Such as greet the homeowner, and tell them what I'm here to do.
  • First I Go up their attic, take pictures and measurements of the rafters, decking, and insolation. To see if our electricians have room to work up there, and run wire & conduit through the attic.
  • Second, take pictures of the main electrical panel & all sub panels, exterior or interior, it doesn't matter because each home is different, with & with out the dead front covers, so I can see and take photos of all the wiring behind it, all the breaker ratings, all the labels that panel has, pictures of the bus bar and identify if its copper or aluminum.
  • I will take photos of all exterior walls outside the home, photos of the meter, photos of the ac unit, photos of the existing electrical equipment of the wall. So we can see where we could put our electrical equipment, Like inverters, pipe, backup batteries, & etc.
  • You come across overheads or underground electrical and that's very important.
  • Once I finished and take all the photos I need from outside the house, i continue to take more photos and measurements, but on the roof. I get my ladder up , take photos of all roof surfaces, and edges. Make sure the roof is in good condition and isn't damaged, or wear or tear and to see if structurally sound and safe for panels to be placed on their roof.
  • I Get measurements of the pitch/tilt Degrees of the roof, & Measurements of the ridge of the roof.
  • Then I fly out my drone to get more photos of the roof and home from up above.
  • Sometimes you come across big projects, where you have to measure out a trench or have a metal roof instead of shingles or instead of homes, its carports or patios, or even shops and warehouses.
  • But I do all of this to provide the best information for our design team, so they can come up with a design and a plan to benefit the homes best out come of this project.
  • To make this install and project, possible or not. That's what the homeowners want from us.
  • Once I finish, my team and company sends homeowners their plan and contract to see if they like it and are okay with moving forward.
  • Once that's approved , and they give us the green light. Our Installers will go out and give them the best experience and the best production to overcome the project for the homeowners, so they can be content and happy with their very important decision and investment they have just made & chose for the Long run.
