Together with my dad I did most every task one would do at a small used vehicle dealership.
I did most of my own paint and autobody work, along with light mechanics to cleaning and detailing..
A few years in we got some shop help, so I mostly split my time between being out in the garage and in the office working sales on the phone. We never did get a secretary, so that's another hat that landed on my head, typing up purchase and sales agreements and title apps, and other office duties.
We had a good run for about 10 years or so. The last few years really got rocky with staff problems and market forces
As the painter I was responsible for repainting cryogenic tanks and trailors after refurbishing.
Most cases it would start with me sandblasting the old paint off. After the surface is clean to bare steel, I would apply a coating of epoxy primer followed by a thick coating of high solids polyurethane paint.
I started out as a laborer for the carpenters (helping with door and window installation)
A few months in I got certified for lead abatement and did door and window removal, general bath and kitchen demo. I did a lot of scraping door jams, window sills as well.
I did many months of sandblasting buildings and brick walls along with industrial painting (many of those same walls) brush, roll, sometimes airless spray.
I did many months of regular interior painting (walls, doors, windows, ect) regular cutting in and rolling in various housing units
