I am a huge sports fanatic. I played baseball my first go around in college at San Diego State University and Concordia University Irvine. I have been coaching high school football and baseball for over 30 years I have been very active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) through our groups at Katella High School, Mead High School, Whitworth University, DCHS and Hyde Park. I was fortunate enough to start “Camp DC” at Douglas County High School. This program was a life coping skills camp for 120 high school students and has been a huge success at DC. I am also an avid golfer. My main interest include being husband to my wife, Tonya, of 35 years and being “Papi” to our four grandchildren.
I have shown throughout my career that I am a leader and self-starter. I decided after 15 years in the law enforcement field that it was time for me to move on to the classroom and share my knowledge with others. I love working with kids and young adults, and I believe this is my true calling. I feel it is my responsibility, not only to educate these students, but inspire, lead, and advocate for each and every one of them. I want students and staff to feel that my office is a safe landing place. It is a place that is free from all outside prejudice where they will receive a structured, safe, and caring environment, where they are able to achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential. As a Christian leader it is my responsibility to model Christ in all my behaviors and actions, and lead with caring, courage, and love just as Christ led his disciples.
