Experienced leader with strong background in guiding teams, managing complex projects, and achieving strategic objectives. Excels in developing efficient processes, ensuring high standards, and aligning efforts with organizational goals. Known for collaborative approach and commitment to excellence.
My entire working career has been focused on dealing with youth. From my 15 years in law enforcement to my current 18 years in education, I have worn many different hats. I have coached at the high school and college levels for a combined 33 years. Growing up in Southern CA, I was allowed to play multiple sports at a competitive level. I have played soccer, basketball, volleyball, and tennis at the club or junior level. I played both baseball and football in high school and was fortunate enough to play college baseball.
My passion is in leadership development and discipleship. The program I created for the Doctoral program focuses on leadership development. It is called the HERD: Shepherd Leadership Development Program: Hear, Explain, Respond, Disciple. The program focuses on Compassionate Provision & care, Courageous Protection & care, Guidance, and Discipleship. My goal is to create future Christian leaders both inside and outside the classroom, who will become Christian leaders in their homes, careers, and communities.
I am a huge sports fanatic. I played baseball my first go around in college at San Diego State University and Concordia University Irvine. I also played football for the Orange County Lawmen which is a football team made up of players from all the law enforcement agencies in Orange County. I have been coaching high school football and baseball for over 30 years between Orange County (Katella High School & Esperanza High School), Spokane WA. (Mead High School & Northwest Christian High School) Kirtland, NM (Kirtland Central High School) Castle Rock, CO (Douglas County HS) and Austin TX (Hyde Park HS). I have been very active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) through our groups at Katella High School, Mead High School, Whitworth University, DCHS and Hyde Park. I have also been involved with Mead Leadership Camps and Breakthrough programs. I was fortunate enough to start “Camp DC” at Douglas County High School. This program is a leadership development and life coping skills camp for 120 high school students and has been a huge success at DC. I am also an avid golfer. My main interest is that of being “Poppy” to my four grandchildren.
