I work in Guest Services on Gamedays as primarily a greeter, ticket taker & placing wristbands on guests with tickets to the private area I work in.I have also worked on the elevator or at the top & bottom of an escalator.
For the Dolphins I work primarily as a greeter, checking tickets, placing wristbands on guests with special tickets to my private section! For Hurricane games I work in the ADA section.I work Dolphins,Hurricanes games, plus soccer, tennis,Formula One,National Championship Games & 1 Super Bowl in 2020,concerts,boxing matches.I also work Dolphins practices at training camp in July & August!
I worked for the Water Department.I started out in 1980 walking house to house reading water meters for billing purposes. It required jumping fences at times where the meter would be located in the rear of the property & also dealing with hostile dogs & customers. I became a Bill Collector where I would drive to a customer’s house if they hadn’t paid their water bill. After we sent them their original bill followed by a final notice,I would go to their property to collect their bill & if they weren’t home or couldn’t pay the bill, then I would disconnect their water.I got bit by dogs a few times, spit on,had a gun pointed at me twice by irate customers & called police a few times on customers who threatened me.I spent 35 yrs with WASA before retiring!
My Fins & Marlins employers have gotten feedback from guests about my empathy, personality, professionalism & winning smile. That means the most for me coming from the fans/guests!
I have been in Miami since 1971,so I understand Spanish & have a large vocabulary but speak it with a mixture of Spanish nouns & English verbs that should be helpful for the soccer guests
