- I am currently a first grade teacher, but have taught fourth grade, third grade, and kindergarten. As an elementary teacher, I have focused on helping my students develop their academic and social skills. I design and deliver engaging lessons that align with the educational standards covering all subject areas. I also create and utilize developmentally appropriate activities for the different groups of students and their learning styles. I assess my students using formal and informal evaluations, and use the data to provide interventions and enrichment while setting realistic goals for my students. I make sure that my classroom rules and routines are structured and that they promote positive behavior and engagement among students. I have served as a team leader for my grade level and collaborated with my team and other educators and specialists so that all students receive the necessary support to thrive academically and socially. I am in constant communication with parents so that we can work together for the benefit of my students, and to foster a supportive home-school connection. I attend weekly professional developments that enhance my teaching skills and help me stay updated on educational best practices and technologies.
